Upcoming EventsTROOP NIGHT BIKE RIDE - TRAIL QUEST EVENT!!!!!!!! - 14th July 2010 - Last week of term 14th July. Please make sure your bikes are road worthy and have a set of lights. Hi-viz clothing would also be a good idea. Meet at the hall for 7:00 start. Finish at 9:15 as normal. Please also bring a helmet, drink, watch (very important) a pen/pencil, a compass if you have one (we can provide if not), a whistle, puncture repair kit and waterproofs if the weather is nasty. Make sure you wear your scout uniform top and necker. Do we also have any parents who can help out. We're looking for parents to take up positions either on their bikes or in cars at checkpoints. 18/05/10 - TOLMERS SUMMER CAMP  Hi All - we have recently been issued with a whole load of information from Tolmers Camp site regarding our summer camp pin the first week of August. We have been informed that the number of Scouts attending must be returned to them by 12th June. This includes the Tolmers own permission form. Therefore they have suggested that a retunr date to us should be 1st June. We have added the permission below which needs to be filled in. We know, we know.................more forms. Sorry about that but better to be safe than sorry. We have also added the activity list which gives you a good flavour of what to expect whilst on the camp. There will be plenty to do we think you'll agree. SO PLEASE, IF YOU ARE INTERESTED PLEASE GET YOUR FORMS FILLED IN (CHILTONS AND TOLMERS) AND GET IT RETURNED BY 1ST JUNE........HURRY UP!!!!!! The Tolmers permission form can be found here The activity list can be found here We have also been told that every year Tolmers holds a theme to the camp. This year is PIRATES!!! Therefore every camper is encouraged to come aboard and make a really good effort to get involved. Everyone will be dressing up for flagdown every evening and where possible the activties will be themed. Sounds great. So don't forgot to pack your costume. Thanks everyone. Please please please make sure you get the forms to us as quickly as possible. One final thing. Once we have declared the numbers we are bound to pay for that many Scouts. So once your name is down you are liable for the full fee. We have been informed that the number of Scouts can increase but they can not be reduced. Cheers
26/04/10 - TOLMERS SUMMER CAMP - 31st July to 7th August 2010  The wait is finally over...................information on the Tolmer summer camp is finally here. This year we have arranged for an action packed summer camp at the Tolmers Camp and Activity Centre in Hertfordshire. Sorry the information has taken a while to reach you all. We have put together an information sheet and permission form which can be found below. All the details we currently have can be found in these files. At the moment the travel arrangements have not be confirmed and this will only happen once we have confirmed numbers of scouts attending. Information on cost etc can be found in the files. Please bear in mind that additional permission forms will be required as specific forms for shooting and canoeing etc will be required. We know how you all love filling in forms! Please pay attention to the return date for forms and deposit by Friday 21st May 2010. Please do not delay as this causes us leaders headaches!!!!! 26/04/10 - Cooking, St Georges and Bag Packing Last weekend was a very busy weekend for our troop. Not only was it the St Georges Day celebrations in our District but we also took part in the District Cooking Competition at 2nd Didcot Scout Group. Representing 2nd Chilton were Painless, Wombat, Maya and Callum serving up an Italian theme menu. With none of the Scouts having taking part before they managed to produce some great food (we won't talk about the starter dish) and come a very good 3rd out of 5. Well done guys. Also thanks to all those who represented the troop at the St Georges Day parade and activity afternoon held in Didcot - patrol points to all who attended! The upcoming events section (above) has been updated to include a new event happening this weekend. Sorry about the short notice! The event will be a bag packing day in aid of raising money for the Evac Camp. If you are available please print off the form and retrun it to us and come along this Saturday. We are not sure who will be attending from the leadership team yet but will let you know. Please let us know by this Friday (30th) if you can attend. Thanks all. 22/04/10 - This terms subs Hi all - this terms subs will be for a 12 week programme from 21st April until 14th July.Therefore the cost for this term will be £33.00. Thanks everyone. Payment as usual to 2nd Chilton Scout Group 18/03/2010 - Chilton Tidy Up DaySaturday 27th March is the village litter picking day. This is an event organised by the village which we thought would a good event to show the village the Scout troop. People will be meeting at the village hall during the morning. Please ask Dave for more details regarding times. Black bags will be provided put please bring your own gloves. If the scouts do attend please make sure you wear your uniform (Class B - see essential information/uniform for more info) and show off your troop colours. Those that do attend will be contributing to their cheif scout gold award by taking part in community events for your community challenge badge. Thanks all.
