District Cooking Competition4 Scouts from the Falcons patrol represented us this year in the District Cooking Compettion held at and organised by the 2nd Didcot Scout group. The scouts where given a very interesting set of ingredients this year including spam and butternut squash. These caused quite a bit of head scratching and comments like "what is spam!". After a bit of thought and a couple of practices the scouts managed to rustle up an Italian themed menu using all the ingredients. The competition went pretty well and the scouts showed they could stay calm and work as a team. There were a few slip ups but over all the Falcons did fantastically well serving up 2 brilliant courses (we won't talk about the starter). The main and dessert both got big thumbs up from the judges. The Falcons managed to come 3rd out of 5 teams. Well done Falcons.
